RAS AL KHAIMAH – H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, was briefed today on Hutchison Ports’ plans for the development of the Saqr Port facilities.
This came at a meeting H.H. Sheikh Saud had with the standing committee in charge of communicating between the RAK Ports and Hutchison Ports under the concession agreement whereby Hutchison Ports is operating the container terminal at Saqr Port.
Sheikh Saud during the meeting underscored the importance of widening the scope of partnerships between various government departments to further invigorate the status of the emirate as an eminent regional and international maritime hub thanks to its strategic gateway location and advanced infrastructure.
He learned about the the milestones made by Hutchison Ports RAK with regards to boosting the container traffic following the signing of the concession agreement one year ago to encourage global companies to take advantage of a less congested and more sustainable multimodal shipping route.
The meeting was attended by a number of officials from both sides.
